Broadmoor
Broadmoor
is a name
broadly applied to School District 12 in southwest Colorado Springs. The
name Broadmoor comes from the internationally famous 5 Star Resort,
"The Broadmoor Hotel". Originally, the Hotel contained 3 golf
courses, its own rodeo arena, and its own artificial ice arena. Large
estate homes surround the Hotel property at the base of Cheyenne Mountain,
in a genuinely spectacular setting.
School
District 12 includes Skyway, north of the Hotel, Broadmoor, around
the Hotel, and Cheyenne Mountain Ranch, which wraps around the base of
Cheyenne Mountain to the entrance to North American Air Defense Command,
which is under Cheyenne Mountain.
Cheyenne
Mountain Ranch includes the Country Club of Colorado, Broadmoor
Hills, Broadmoor Bluffs, Broadmoor Glen, and Broadmoor Oaks. Mountain side
lots with natural vegetation offer grand views of the mountains, the City
of Colorado Springs, and the plains.
Access
to downtown is easy, and Fort Carson is an immediate neighbor. The
Colorado Springs World Arena, a 3 sheet artificial ice complex which
replaced the Broadmoor Hotel's World Arena, is minutes away, at I-25 and
Lake Avenue. South Academy Boulevard affords a quick connection to the
Colorado Springs Airport. Homes in the area span a broad range of styles
and types up to $4 million.
